Ideas
A machine that proposes ideas a person would choose.
Give it a design brief. It returns many concepts, each begun from a different way of thinking, and places each on one scale: how far it sits from the usual answer. A person chooses, near or far. Developing a choice into drawings and a model is the job of the studio, a separate prototype that is not yet connected to this one.

Move the dial. The further out, the more unusual, and the less it fits the brief.
The dial
| Band | How it is made | A concept from it | Unusual | Fit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Plain | No framework. The model answers the brief as it usually does. This is the control. | Harbour Passage. A public covered passage cuts through the museum from Market Square to the waterfront. | 25 | 78 |
| Theirs | The framework’s own typical answer, as the person would likely draw it. | Stone and Glass. Put the protected galleries inside a solid stone base and lift a transparent public room above it. | 29 | 71 |
| Stretch | The person’s method, applied to forms they would not usually use. | The Public Roof. A broad timber roof makes a public route from Market Square toward Tähtitorninvuori, with the museum rooms beneath it. | 39 | 74 |
| Far | Their method, plus real outside material such as a dry dock or a stone wall without mortar. | Harbour Rooms. Keep the main galleries on the quay and put the museum’s most public rooms on floating platforms moored beside it. | 58 | 56 |
| Farthest | Break an assumption that nearly every proposal for the brief shares. | The Moving Hall. Keep the museum on the quay, but let its events hall float at the water’s edge. | 66 | 53 |
Source: Framework’s Ideas page, dial check of Oct 31, 2026. Six runs, 90 concepts for one museum brief. Unusualness and fit are scored from 0 to 100 by one AI judge that cannot see which band a concept came from. It is a measuring stick, not a jury, and no architect has rated these concepts.
